worksThe project of rehabilitation of water supply network in Canton Sarajevo is currently taking place.

Project of rehabilitation – reconstruction of the water supply network started from Skenderija to Sarajevo City Hall.

Works on the first phase of reconstruction of water supply network are in progress. The deadline for execution of works is 90 days. With this project is planned to reconstruct 980 meters of pipeline DN 400 (section Skenderija – Drvenija) and 960 meters of pipeline DN 300 and DN 200 (section Drvenija – City Hall). The value of the project is 1.1 million BAM. The contractor is Mibral Ltd Sarajevo.

“The first section of the first phase of reconstruction of water supply network on the section Drvenija – City Hall, was completed on the 1st of August 2016. During these works was reconstructed a total of 190 meters of very old DN 300 pipelines, which had losses of water in the form of leaks at each joint.

On the 2nd of August 2016 started works on the reconstruction of the water supply network on the second section, from the Cumurija Bridge to the Latin bridge. These are also a cast iron pipelines which were built in the ’60s.

This pipeline will be replaced by a new DN 300 pipeline. Given that these works will also take place in the part of the city which has only one traffic lane and the other one is used for trams, occasional traffic jams are expected.

“We would like to appeal to our fellow citizens of Canton Sarajevo on understanding and patience since this is a very important project of rehabilitation of water supply system. The contractor Mibral, under the supervision of PUC VIK Sarajevo,  is really doing everything in order to release the burden on the traffic lanes, which are needed for removal and transportation of materials as well as maneuver of construction machinery,” said Nezir Hadzic, the Director of PUC Water and Sewage Ltd Sarajevo.

The second section of the first phase of reconstruction includes the replacement of approximately 200 meters of pipeline DN 300) The deadline for completion of works on these sections is 10 days, if there are no major problems.
