SIPADespite more frequent statements made by president of the Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and some analysts about the growing number of extremist community in BiH, Bosnian security forces point out that our country, just as much as every other country in the world, is exposed to the possible terrorist attacks.

Given the increasing stories about the rise of extremism in BiH, journalist of portal Klix spoke with the director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Perica Stanic.

“Based on the information available to the State Investigation and Protection Agency, we can say that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a source of Islamic extremism,” said Stanic.

Moreover, Stanic said that SIPA has the capacity to independently or in cooperation with the relevant prosecutors and other law enforcement bodies, take all necessary measures and actions aimed at combating all forms of extremism, radicalism and terrorism.

“Due to the fact that BiH is a member of the global coalition against ISIS makes it equally as every other country in the world exposed to the possible terrorist attacks. Moreover, due to the moves that country has taken in the fight against extremism, radicalism and terrorism, both domestically as well as globally, makes it a potential target” said Stanic.

To recall, the president of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic has repeatedly stated that there are thousands of soldiers coming back to Bosnia and Herzegovina after fighting on the side of a terrorist organization ISIS.

Many BH politicians strongly condemned the statements Grabar, adding that she manipulated data given that, according to previous data, 120 citizens of BiH were on the battlefields in Syria and Iraq.
