In the organization of the Public Institution for Culture “Hrvatski Dom (Croatian House)”, the 11th International festival “Days of mowing – Kupres BiH 2017” will be held from June 28 to July 2.
The central part of the event will be “competition of knights in mowing’, which has a centuries-old tradition, and it will be held on Sunday, July 2, on Kupres, at 3:30 PM.
Before the competition, at 1 PM, participants will have the opportunity to test their strength in the traditional sports: long jump, fight on logs and the walking race. The international horse race will be held at 5 PM.
During the manifestation “Days of mowing” a concert of folk dances and songs from Kupres, Citluk and Bugojno will be held, as well as the festival market, ethnographic exhibitions, and presentation of old crafts.
Besides local compositions, the visit of Folklore ensemble “Lindjo” from Dubrovnik was also announced, as well as folklore groups from Puerto Rico, Poland, Austria, Latvia, and France.
The championship of hunting associations of counties of Hercegbosna will be held on Stolino vrilo in Kupres on Saturday, July 1, as well as the indoor football tournament.
During these five days of the festival, more than 10 000 visitors are expected, and “Days of Mowing” will be held under the auspices of UNESCO this year again.
