EU to allocate 357 Million EUR for Peljesac Bridge

peljesac bridgeThe Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic, said that the European Commission will complete all internal procedures for co-financing the Peljesac Bridge construction project. Namely, Croatia will receive 357 million Euros from the EU budget.

According to the Croatian media, the Minister of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union in the Government of the Republic of Croatia Gabrijela Zalac said that the signing ceremony of will be held on June 7th in Brussels.

The Croatian Minister of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butkovic says that the construction of the Peljesac Bridge will link Dalmatia with the rest of Croatia, and that the traffic in Neum wil be avoided in this way.

“This is the most important infrastructure project,” he added.

“In September, the constructor will be chosen, followed by works, and all is to be completed by 2021 and 2022,” concludes Butkovic.

According to Croatian media, everything was agreed with the BiH side.
