The area of the former HAK 1 factory could soon be cleaned of hazardous substances that have been stored at that location for many years, considering that the Polish company Organika will allocate 250,000 BAM for that purpose.

Namely, this amount will enable the export of 150 tons of hazardous substances from the industrial zone of Tuzla, because there is no landfill for hazardous waste in our country, Klix.ba writes.

As stated, this project is the result of continuous efforts of the Government of Tuzla Canton through the Ministry of Physical Planning and Environmental Protection and ultimately the Tuzla industrial zone will be cleaned of hazardous and potentially hazardous substances that are buried or disposed of improperly.

“This is the result of the efforts made by the Government of Tuzla Canton through the relevant ministry and the efforts of the federal inspector Maida Beslagic Karajin.

In the meantime, an expert team formed by the Government of Tuzla Canton prepared a Report on the assessment of the condition of hazardous waste in the area of the former HAK 1 factory.

“Within that document, everything related to historical data and information on the state of hazardous substances from 2013 to 2019 was processed, a cross-section of all physical and chemical properties of individual substances present at the location, the degree of danger, a field inspection to see what the current situation is and compare it with the data that were previously given and guidelines for further action have been issued, “said Minister Karazdin.
