Children are above any and all Politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina

To date, two members from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tripartite presidency have joined UNICEF Bosnia and Herzegovina’s CRC30 campaign #SlušajDijete (“Listen to the Child”). As one of the 52 States that have signed the CRC 30 Global pledge, Bosnia and Herzegovina remains steadfast in its commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Željko Komšić, joined the campaign by sitting for an interview conducted by Iman, age 11. Mr. Komšić spoke about his own childhood and child rights, and commented on the importance of the CRC@30 anniversary.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Šefik Džaferović, also joined the campaign, contributing a statement on child rights.

In both instances, Bosnia and Herzegovina showed its commitment to the CRC while sending a clear message that children should always be above the political fray.

The #SlušajDijete campaign builds on the message that the voices and opinions of children must be taken seriously, and that their rights are to be respected and fulfilled. The campaign turns to public figures to help amplify this message in a series of interviews, where a child is the interviewer and leads the dialogue about childhood and child rights.
