Following the Croatian Government’s decision to help Bosnia and Herzegovina fight against COVID-19, on Monday a shipment of protective equipment arrived in Sarajevo. The donation was received by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic and Croatian Ambassador in Sarajevo Ivan Sabolic.

Sabolic underscored Croatia’s solidarity with Bosnia and Herzegovina, recalling that Croatia had already sent aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s health institutions at the very onset of the crisis.

The transport and handover of the equipment was organized by the Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo in cooperation with Croatia’s Ministry of the Interior.

Croatia has donated protective medical gear to Montenegro consisting of 50,000 surgical masks, 2,000 litres of rubbing alcohol, 2,000 face shields and 1,000 protective goggles.

Montenegrin Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodzic thanked the Croatian government for the donation, which was handed over to Montenegrin authorities on Tuesday, notably Minister of the Interior Davor Bozinovic, Croatia Week reports.

“Montenegro has a true friend in Croatia. That is what Montenegrin citizens feel as well, and they especially appreciate the support Croatia has been giving Montenegro on its European journey,” Nuhodzic said.

Commending cooperation with Montenegrin state institutions during the coronavirus pandemic, Croatian Ambassador to Montenegro Veselko Grubisic said at the ceremony at which the donation was handed over that Croatia wanted to show good neighbourly solidarity to Montenegro and that it would continue supporting it on the path to EU membership.
