The signing of the Contract on the construction of the public collective garage G3, in Kolodvorska Street, near the Main Ambulance, signed by the Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adi Kalem, Director of the Institute for Construction Canton Sarajevo Mirza Hulusic and Director of “Unigradnja” Mustafa Durakovic, on behalf contractors, all the conditions for the start of construction of this important and long-awaited infrastructure facility have been met. The total value of the project is approximately six million BAM.

More than 4.4 million BAM will be allocated by the Sarajevo Canton, while the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will participate in the project with 1.5 million BAM worth of land, it was announced from the Government of CS.

The underground garage will be built on the already existing parking lot, across from the ambulance facility, under which two more underground floors will be built. With this project, instead of the current forty places, citizens will have at their disposal a total of 165 parking spaces.

The garage will cover approximately 4,000 square meters of usable area. The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Mario Nenadic, pointed out that the Canton, together with the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, had delegated this project and enabled it to start its operationalization, ie construction, in ten days.

The Ministry of Transport, together with the Municipality and utility companies, worked intensively during the coronavirus pandemic and finalized all the necessary administrative and infrastructural preconditions for reaching the construction phase of the garage.

It is important to emphasize that this is part of the infrastructure projects that Sarajevo Canton is currently working on, from the First Transversal, the Southern Longitudinal, the IX Transversal, the reconstruction of the tram line, public transport and others, Prime Minister Nenadic emphasized.

He expressed hope that by November 15, as provided by the project and the contract, the works will be completed, and that then the citizens will be put to use 165 new parking spaces in this very busy area of the Municipality and Canton.
