The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the State Court an indictment against six persons for war crimes in Sanski Most and Manjaca, it was confirmed for Detektor.
Drago Vujanić, Milan Ivanić, Mile Došenović, Jugoslav Rodić, Milorad Bilbija and Simo Simetić are still included in the indictment.
As Detektor previously wrote, Vujanić and the others are accused of unlawfully imprisoning thousands of civilians of non-Serb nationality as part of a joint criminal enterprise and keeping them locked up in camps without evidence, and inflicting severe physical and mental pain on them through physical torture and other means, as a result of which at least 40 inmates died, and more than 1,600 were forcibly transferred to the “Manjača” military camp and then forcibly deported out of the country.
“We wrote that earlier the indictment in this case was filed and forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation, but in the meantime it was sent back for processing. Even then, there were the same suspects, and they were charged with the same crime,” it was confirmed for Detektor.
The first indictment in that case was never forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation. This, according to the information that the acting prosecutor in this case, Izet Odobašić, previously sent to the Permanent Commission for the Efficiency and Quality of Prosecution of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), was forbidden by the Chief State Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić.
Because of this, Odobasic filed a complaint against Kajganić to the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor. Kajganić then filed a report against the prosecutor Odobašić with the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office. The Prosecutor’s Office announced at the time that Prosecutor Odobasic was reported because two days before the end of the calendar year he submitted the draft of the indictment in order to declare the case completed by the end of 2025 in order to meet the norm.
