Chairman of Council of Ministers of BiH announces Important Information regarding Entrance of Foreign Nationals

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija, stated that the decision on opening the borders for all foreign citizens will be made at the next session of the Council of Ministers and that it will be very precisely defined with what tests one can enter BiH.

“We needed the position of the health sector in BiH for this decision, and their assessment was that with the tests we now have for the citizens of EU countries, we are ready to open the borders for other countries as well,” Tegeltija told reporters in Brod on Friday.

Foreigners who want to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to citizens of Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, with all the necessary documents to cross the border, must have a negative test for coronavirus, not older than 48 hours from the moment of entry into our country.

However, the Council of Ministers of BiH did not specify the type of test required to cross our border, so both PCR and serological are considered, provided that they are negative. This information was confirmed for the Klix.ba portal by Franka Vican, spokesperson for the BiH Border Police, and stated that it was regulated by the decision of the Regulation on prescribing additional conditions for the entry of foreigners into BiH.

“Consequently, the type and type of test for which a certificate of coronavirus test is issued is not prescribed. In this regard, police officers of the BiH Border Police, when performing border checks, only determine whether a foreigner has a certificate of virus test negative not older than 48 hours, ”Vican said.

Vican also emphasized that the BiH Border Police performs border checks in accordance with the Law and decisions of the BiH Council of Ministers.

“The latest amendment to the Decision on prescribing additional conditions for the entry of foreigners into BiH stipulates that from July 16, 2020, citizens of EU member states and Schengen member states, as well as foreigners holding a multiple Schengen visa or visa, may enter and stay in BiH. EU countries or an appropriate residence permit in the countries of the European Union and the Schengen area, provided that they have a certificate of a negative test for coronavirus, not older than 48 hours from the moment of entry into BiH,”, Vican emphasized.
