The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, stated on Monday, during a visit to the municipality of Vukosavlje, that before the end of this year, ie before the summit in Sofia scheduled for the end of November, BiH could confirm its presence in the “Little Schengen” initiative.

Tegeltija said this issue is a matter of BiH foreign policy, led by the BiH Presidency. “As you know, the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, requested at the previous session of the Presidency for the Presidency to make a decision on BiH’s accession to that regional program, and the other two members were not ready to vote, but asked the Council of Ministers to prepare for BiH upon that accession “, Tegeltija pointed out.

Tegeltija believes that there has been a change in BiH’s position on the “Little Schengen”, which allows BiH to confirm its presence in this regional cooperation by November 10, when the Summit of Leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans is scheduled, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

“‘Little Schengen’ will regulate the movement of people, goods, capital, services between individual countries, and everything that will be needed will be regulated through mutual agreements. These will not be any laws that we will have to pass, but it will be resolved by relations between all countries. which join Schengen,” Tegeltija said.

“Little Schengen” is an initiative of the countries of the Western Balkans, which implies full freedom of movement of goods, people, services and capital, which is one of the basic values of the EU. This initiative was also discussed at the video summit of the leaders of the Western Balkan six held on July 29, which was attended by Serbia, BiH, Albania, Northern Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.
