Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Entity introduces New Measures after worsened Epidemiological Situation

Due to the worsened epidemiological situation, the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health issued an order today that the wearing of protective masks is mandatory outdoors of the entire Federation of BiH.

Assistant Federal Minister of Health Goran Cerkez told reporters in Sarajevo, after the session of the Crisis Staff, that an order was issued that all hospitals in FBiH must make their capacities available within 72 hours.

Cerkez said that it was requested that all accredited laboratories in the territory of FBiH be activated, and that the cantonal ministries were invited to sign contracts and start testing. He said that antigen testing would be introduced in FBiH.

“The orders are prescribed for the next 14 days. The situation has significantly deteriorated. We have also seen that today’s figures show this. The incidence is 160, twice as much as seven days ago, “Cerkez said.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 952 samples were registered with the Public Health Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzgeovina, of which 383 were positive for SARS-CoV-2 and new cases have been registered in all the cantons in the Federation of BiH.

As of today, 18,292 patients have recovered in the Federation of BiH, and in the past 24 hours, recovery has been recorded in 31 patients. Currently, there are 7,739 active cases of SARS-CoV-2 in the FBiH, Fena news agency writes.

In the past 24 hours, 12 new deaths were reported to the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH.

As of today, the total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 709.

In the entity of Republika Srpska, 881 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, and coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed in 318 people. The highest number of infected people is in Banja Luka – 184 people, said the RS Institute of Public Health.

Five deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours and so far, a total of 372 people have died in the RS.

The total number of hospitalized is 442, in the University Clinical Center 177, and in general hospitals 265.
