Delegation of the Association for protection of the name and preservation of the tradition of the Territorial defense of the Federation of BiH. Marked the Day of the Territorial Defense of the Republic of BiH- 8th April, with yesterday’s activities.
It was pointed out that this year’s celebration has a special significance because it took place in the year when 20th anniversary of the end of the war in BiH is marked.
Delegation of the Association laid flowers at the Shahid cemetery “Kovaci“ in Sarajevo where they paid tribute to veterans of Bosnia and Herzegvoina.
Also, flowers were laid at the Stadium Kosevo was held, memorial place Eternal flame and cemetery near Ali Pasha mosque.
Activities were completed with a solemn academy in the House of Armed Forces of BiH.
President of the Association, Fadil Alihodzic, said in his welcoming speech that the anniversary of the Territorial defense is marked with the aim of remembering of its role and importance in the preparation of the resistance to the aggression on BiH and its importance during the war, until the transformation to the Army of the Republic of BiH.
“Today we mark the 23rd anniversary of the Territorial defense, from the day of bringing of decision of the Presidency of RBiH, on 8th April, when it has been declared as the only legitimate army force“, said Alihodzic.
Academy was attended by numerous guests, representatives of the cultural and public life, legislative and executive authorities and representatives of families of killed soldiers and shahids.
