32 Years since the Beginning of the Siege: Installation ”Think Freedom 1425” set in Sarajevo

With the setting of the installation – ”Misli Sloboda/Think Freedom 1425” by our respected artist Edina Seleskovic on the Square in front of the Cathedral and in Strosmajerova Street, the commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo began.

The installation represents a powerful symbol that connects the past, present, and future of Sarajevo and sends a strong message about the path to freedom that the city took during the 1425 days of siege. Each message carries with it a part of the history and struggle of the citizens of Sarajevo for freedom while lookingtoward a better and brighter future.

At the same time, it is an inspiration to young people to think positively and to be part of the contemporary art scene.

“The installation of artistic birds connects us all together in a peace mission, reminding us that we must not forget the citizens of Sarajevo who spent difficult wartime moments waiting for the end of the war, in the fight and hope for freedom,” said the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic.

She is happy that the message of freedom, peace, and future through this work of art is traveling the world precisely from Sarajevo, the city of love and human warmth.

The installation was designed in cooperation with the artists of the Manifesto gallery, and the cultural and artistic performance was enriched by young actors, the Super AR choir, students of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, and Pop Rock School Sarajevo.

After June 7th, until it is presented in Sarajevo, the installation continues its journey to other European countries, Radio Sarajevo writes.
