In the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, 7,216 people have died so far, and 35,526 people have been injured in these two countries. There are 5,434 dead and 31,777 injured in Turkey so far, according to the latest news.

At least 1,782 people have died in Syria, while 3,749 are currently injured, SANA news agency reported.

EMSC: The number of aftershocks has started to decrease

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said the number of aftershocks following the recent deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has started to decline.

“The number of aftershocks has started to decrease. We hope that trend will continue to allow the population to rest,” EMSC said on Twitter.

After two strong earthquakes yesterday morning with magnitudes of 7.8 and 7.4 degrees, a larger number of smaller ones followed, but their frequency began to decrease.
