7th International Competitive Waterfall Jumps to be held in Jajce

The “Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce” in the unique setting of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe and the world will organize the 7th International Competitive Waterfall Jumps on August 13.

“The Pliva River waterfall, more than 20 meters high, will host a unique sports and tourism event. According to the statements of professional high jumpers from the USA, Colombia, Germany, Denmark, etc., who had the opportunity to jump from the waterfall in Jajce, the jumps in Jajce are among the most challenging but also the most beautiful places to jump. It is a special attraction for all jumpers to jump from the natural waterfall located in the center of the historic town of Jajce,” Agency director Anto Brtan told Fena news agency.

The organizer of the international competition jumps from the waterfall in Jajce, Public Enterprise “Agency for cultural-historical and natural heritage and development of tourist potential of the city of Jajce” announces that visitors and jumpers can expect a rich program.

More than 16 jumpers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro registered for the jumps, who will perform in the competition part in the “Swallow” style, and in the exhibition part of the so-called “Freestyle”. Elvad Krnic from Montenegro will defend the title of winner of the 6th International Jumps on Saturday.

Brtan points out that the safety of the jumpers is taken care of and that before the performance, all jumpers should undergo a mandatory medical examination, after which the sequence of jumps for each discipline will be determined. The safety of the jumpers will be taken care of by members of the Jajce Mountain Rescue Service.

“Jajce is one of the most popular destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and this year saw a large increase in the number of guests from abroad and domestic guests. The expectation of the organizers is that these jumps from the waterfall will also attract a large number of guests, and that all of them will take the best memories from Jajce,” said Brtan.
