A Happy Childhood: A Photo only Kids born in Yugoslavia will understand

In the Facebook group “Nostalgija”, which has over 422.000 followers, a photo was posted that brings back memories of simpler, happier times.

The photo of children watching television in a living room stirred emotions among members of the popular group.

In the evenings, families gathered in front of the TV, which was the central piece of every home. Kids would sit on the floor, excited and impatient, waiting for their favorite program.

It’s often recalled that not every family in Yugoslavia owned a television, especially when they first appeared, leading to stories of neighbors gathering at the homes of those who did and watching together.

Alongside a photo of a Yugoslav-era living room, which has gathered over 600 likes and more than 20 comments, the caption reads: “A Happy Childhood.”

In the photo, children – two boys and two girls – sit on the floor in front of a television with a lamp on top, completely focused on the program.

Comments included: “That was exactly what childhood was like; growing up with neighborhood kids,” “It was a happy and the best childhood,” “Unforgettable,” and “One day back then was better than an entire month now.”
