The Government of Republika Srpska yesterday made a decision to pay 11 million BAM to agriculture producers in this entity by the end of August due to huge damages from drought.

After the session of the Government of the RS, at which was discussed the report on the impact of drought on agricultural production and proposal of possible measures, Prime Minister Cvijanovic announced that agriculture producers could receive additional 10 million BAM if the Law on Excises is adopted.

According to her, the obligations towards agriculture producers from last year were full filled, and they paid 20 million BAM for this year, which represents a third of the agrarian budget.

The President of the RS Milorad Dodik, who also attended the session, said that he is very pleased that the government reacted urgently to this situation and adopted a set of measures to assist agriculture considering the enormous damage caused by drought.

“It is impossible to repair all the damage, which is estimated at about 50 %. I am grateful to the Government of the RS on a set of measures that are systemic,” stated Dodik.
