Alcaraz and Sabalenka Set Record Earnings in Tennis History with US Open Victories

This year’s US Open winners Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka each won $5 million for their triumph in New York, the largest individual prize in the history of a Grand Slam tournament.

The organizers have maintained the tradition of equal prizes for men and women this year, so both champions were awarded the same amount, while the losers in the final received $2.5 million.

Incidentally, the previous record was held by Jannik Sinner, who in November 2024 collected $4.9 million by winning the final Masters in Turin.

The total prize fund of this year’s US Open was $90 million, an increase of almost 20 percent compared to last year.

When compared to other Grand Slams – the Australian Open (about $62.5 million), Roland Garros (65.5 million) and Wimbledon (52 million), it is clear that the US Open 2025 is ahead and confirms its status as the richest tennis tournament in the world.

Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in the final to take over the top spot in the ATP rankings, while Sabalenka defended her title against Amanda Anisimova.
