On the occasion of the International Day of Tourism, an exhibition of oldtimer cars and motorcycles is being held today on the plateau in front of the City Hall in Sarajevo, organized by the Sarajevo Oldtimer Club.

According to organizer Nedim Husić, the event is being held for the first time and has gathered participants from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina – Banja Luka, Mostar, Sarajevo and other cities.

“We invited old-timers to participate in the event with their cars and motorbikes, and we also have an old bus on display. We also have some ‘younger’ vehicles from the seventies on display. We want to show fellow citizens and guests what Sarajevo has. Participants will visit the City Hall and Baščaršija and Trebević. We didn’t invite a large number, but enough to start with, but I think it will be a nice event. We are talking about how we live from tourism, that it is one of our most successful economic branches, and we need it in that branch and invest. With this event, we are trying to promote tourism in our city,” said Husić.

The most interesting exhibit at the exhibition is a replica of the car in which Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated.

Among the exhibited cars, Mercedes from 1947, Opel Olimpija from 1952, and a FIAT bus from 1963, preserved by Centrotrans, stand out. A total of 15 cars were exhibited, as well as a slightly smaller number of engines.
