Annual inflation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in January, compared to January last year, was two percent.
According to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency, the average price increase of food and non-alcoholic beverages was 2.9 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco were on average more expensive by 4.8 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance by 4.3 percent, healthcare by three percent, communications by 2.2 percent, recreation and culture by 4.2 percent, education by 1.9 percent, restaurants and hotels by 6.6 percent, and other goods and services by 8.2 percent. Prices of clothing and footwear fell by 6.2 percent on average, and transportation by 3.3 percent.
The prices of products and services used for personal consumption in BiH, measured by the consumer price index, in January this year compared to December last year, recorded an average growth of 0.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, in January compared to the previous month, an average increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages was recorded by 0.8 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.5 percent, furniture and household appliances by 0.1 percent, in in the restaurants and hotels section by 0.2 percent, and other goods and services by 0.8 percent.
Clothing and footwear were on average cheaper by three percent, housing and overhead expenses by 0.3 percent, and healthcare and transportation by 0.2 percent each.
