There are many reactions to the decision of the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Christian Schmidt, who made the decision to unblock the appointment of the Government of the Federation of BiH (FBiH).
DF: We reject the imposition of the constitution and the occupation-style government
The DF completely rejects and strongly condemns the new imposition of changes to the Constitution of the FBiH.
It is completely clear that this is a brutal attack on the constitutional order by a foreigner in our country in the position of High Representative, with the aim of imposing election rules in the interest of HDZ BiH, and with the goal of forming an occupation-style government, which, in addition to the HDZ, would consist of the parties gathered around Covic, primarily SDP, NiP and NS.
Moreover, the DF believes that anyone who agrees to form a government based on these imposed, anti-constitutional and undemocratic rules is committing a direct “crime” against the state and citizens.
To accept the exercise of power on the basis of occupation is against the will of the citizens, and in the interest of foreign factors and political centers from the neighborhood.
This means nothing more than the historical humiliation of citizens, primarily Bosniak citizens, but also all those citizens of non-Bosniak nationality, Croats, Serbs, and Others, and citizens as such, who do not fit into the concrete ethnic concept.
Lendo: This is rude and humiliating
This is rude and unconstitutional, especially when it comes to Bosniaks, said the Vice President of the FBiH, Refik Lendo, immediately after the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, yesterday used the Bonn powers and imposed decisions related to the unblocking of the formation of the FBiH Government.
It should be recalled that the Office of the High Representative (OHR) announced the decision of High Representative Schmidt on unblocking the appointment of the Government of the FBiH.
“This is an understatement. I don’t know what the international community is doing when it comes to Bosniaks and BiH. This is a warning for us, for the Bosniaks, what and how to turn next, and how to position ourselves towards the international community and ourselves. Let’s see how to overcome these problems and look for solutions,” Lendo stated.
In response to the statement that the High Representative considers this a solution for the FBiH, Lendo said that this is “a solution for Covic”.
“The solution as Covic asked for, this is a one-time solution, to expel the Bosniaks now. This applies to these elections. In a year, what he is playing… about the agreement on the Electoral Law, who will agree on the Electoral Law?! Who should he make an agreement with?! There is no chance that we and Covic will come to an agreement,” he pointed out.
He announced that the SDA and other parties will make a decision when it comes to the attitude towards Bosniaks.
“This is not an attitude towards SDA but towards Bosniaks, towards BiH patriots. An underestimating attitude towards Bosniaks. This is extremely rude and humiliating. I doubt that Bosniaks will accept this, delegates, MPs, citizens…”, concluded Lendo.
Our party: Impositions come because of our inability to find solutions ourselves
Regarding the decision of the High Representative on the basis of which the Government of FBiH will be formed, Our Party announced:
“The decision of the High Representative on the formation of the Government of FBiH, after that process has been blocked for six years, is a good thing for citizens to get power and to start the processes that can lead to an increase in the quality of life from a dead end.”
It is good that the decision envisages the possibility of early elections, which will prevent anyone’s usurpation of power and blockades, they emphasized.
“We will respect the OHR’s decision, which we call on all other political parties to do as well. We are obliged to do this according to constitutional and legal regulations, but also according to the orders of political ethics because, the fact is, impositions come when we show our inability to decide for ourselves, in accordance with the best political standards and principles of compromise. Accordingly, we respect the decisions made by others when we show such political immaturity.”
