The award of annual scholarship of foundation “Karim Zaimović” will take place tomorrow, at the Sarajevo War Theater -SARTR.
The Foundation “Karim Zaimović” is established in 1996, with the aim of preserving the name and work of young journalist and writer Karim Zaimović, who died in 1995, when he was only 25 years old. He died during Sarajevo bombing.
This foundation is established by the magazine “Dani” from Sarajevo, Radio Zid from Sarajevo, Independent Union of professional journalists from Sarajevo, the publishing house SAF from Celje and from the family Zaimović. The goal of this foundation is to distribute scholarships to students with significant talents in culture, art, literature and journalism as well as to support young talents from this fields.
Karim Zaimović was one of the most talented journalists and writers of his generation.
So far, this foundation has awarded 29 scholarships and special awards, as well as two journalism awards to successful young journalists. The scholarship will be awarded from members of managing board of Foundation “Karim Zaimović”, professor Zdravko Grebo and the former chief editor of the magazine “Dani” Senad Pećanin, announced organizers.
