For Sara, Dino and Ena, SOS mom Jasna is the only family they know. She is someone who helps them solve a complicated mathematical problem, someone who cooks their favorite dishes, takes them to cinema, teaches them how to tie their laces and tells them every day how special and loved they are. And strong hug of small hands is enough for mom Jasna to know how much she means to them and how happy she is for having an opportunity to replace the irreplaceable people in their lives every day.
Twenty-nine SOS families with 272 boys and girls live in two BiH SOS Children’s Village with their SOS moms. Every SOS mom strives to offer to her children a warm home, smile, and moments of happy and careless childhood – every mom strives to compensate the absence of the irreplaceable ones.
Do you ever wonder how many irreplaceable people you have in your life? Those who you know they love you unconditionally, who you know will be there when you need them and who will do anything for you? Do you ever remember to tell them how important they are to you?
“Love and support can truly do a lot for every one of us. Without love and persistence, it would be a lot harder for the SOS moms. We know that miracles are possible because children, youth and families we take care of remind us every day of that and inspire us over and over again. Thereby, we invite you to join us and become a godfather/godmother of the SOS families and help us replace the irreplaceable ones,” stated the SOS Children’s Village BiH.
This kind of sponsorship requires you support throughout the year, on monthly level, where you help us cover the living costs of 29 SOS families with 272 boys and girls in two SOS Children’s Villages in BiH – in Sarajevo and Gračanica. In order to become a godfather/godmother of an SOS family, it is necessary that you reside in BiH.
Through letters, which will arrive at your address twice a year, you will meet one SOS family and thus learn more about the family model that our organization nourishes and about the everyday life within one family, but the money you decide to donate is direct support for all 29 SOS families equally.
If you continuously donate between five and ten BAM for twelve months, or a total of 60 or 120 BAM, that money will cover the monthly costs of buying school accessories or clothes and footwear for one child. However, your monthly donation between 10 and 15 BAM throughout the year will cover monthly costs of food for one child.
You are the ones who decide on the dynamics of payment during the year – monthly, in quarters, or semiannually.

Being a sponsor to SOS families depends exclusively on your decision, desire, ability and good will. There are no legal or any other kinds of liabilities if you ever want to stop your sponsorship.
