Member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Presidency Denis Becirovic addressed the media yesterday during the commemoration of Martyrs’ Day at the Kovaci cemetery in Sarajevo. Becirovic spoke about current political issues and referred to the latest statements of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
“Today, we came here to express our deep respect for the martyrs and fighters who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH. It is our duty to preserve the memory of those who gave the most for the defense of BiH“, said Becirovic yesterday and added:
“It is up to us to do everything we can so that our country enters the NATO alliance as soon as possible. I must say that apart from what was announced, there are encouraging messages from Brussels, from the headquarters of NATO, which has the mandate and obligation to react when peace and stability in BiHare threatened”.
I would recommend everyone who questions the future and independence of BiH not to play with fire.
Becirovic referred to the statements of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
“In recent weeks and months, the local and regional public is slowly learning the true face of Aleksandar Vucic. He is not a peacemaker, the main problem in BiH is not Dodik but Vucic. Therefore, international officials would have to ask themselves what kind of instructions Vucic is giving Dodik. He would have to start respecting the sovereignty and independence and territorial integrity of BiH and stop interfering in internal affairs”.
“My message to him is to respect international law, and not to behave as if the rules do not apply to him”.
He also said that he does not want to comment on the ministers’ statements on a daily basis.
“I deal with certain matters very seriously and it does not occur to me to be a daily commentator on the statements of any minister. I would suggest they make fewer statements and announcements, and work more behind the scenes”.
The United Nations (UN) resolution on Srebrenica?
“Another issue that we should work on responsibly and seriously, and not make populist statements in the media. When that’s all over then I’ll talk a little more about it. Until then, we should work seriously, and here’s exclusive information for you – I’m going to New York at the beginning of next week,” concluded Becirovic, N1 writes.
