Thousands of fans of the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the “BH Fanaticos” group, paid tribute to the victims of the catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina this evening at the Zenica stadium “Bilino Polje”, providing support to the citizens who are currently struggling with the consequences of the disaster.
In the 39th minute of the match of the third round of group “3” of the elite division “A” of the UEFA Nations League between the selections of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany at the Zenica stadium, the fans raised banners with an invitation to collect aid for the victims of floods and landslides in Jablanica, Fojnica, Konjic and Kresevo.
The lights on the mobile phones were first turned on in the stands, and then everyone present, as well as the spectators next to the small screens, were invited to call the humanitarian number 17039.
The humanitarian organization “Pomozi.ba” organized the collection of aid by placing boxes on the stands of the stadium with a call for donations via the humanitarian number 17039.
At least 23 people have died in floods and landslides that hit parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina after a heavy storm followed by rain at the end of last week. Of that number, 20 people died in the Herzegovina-Neretva canton, and three in the municipality of Fojnica. Five people are still being sought, AA writes.
