Handball team of B&H opened the qualifications for the World Championship 2017 in France with the victory against Slovakia in Mejdan in Tuzla. The result on the end was 29:25.
With the great support from the stands, players of Dragan Markovic entered the match very motivated. A total of 5, 000 spectators cheered B&H team to victory.
After 17 minutes, the score was 8: 7, and at a time when the Slovaks reached their 7th goal our players had two players less in the game (excluded for 2 minutes). However, whenever the Slovaks tied the score, Nikola Prce would take things into his hands. In the 18th minute he scored for 9: 8 for our team.
The first half of the match ended with the score 14:14. B&H team showed certain vulnerability in defense.
The second part of the match was opened by two goals of Malinovic. As in the first half, Slovaks returned scoring two goals for the new tied result. Dejan Malinovic scored his 5th goal in the 54th minute. That was the first time that B&H team had three-goal advantage, and the score was 25:22. In the next attack Prce increased the score on the four-goal advantage.
On the end, the score was 29:25. The victory in the opening of qualifications that was achieved a bit more difficult than expected. The most efficient in B&H team was Nikola Prce with 9 goals and Dejan Malinovic with 6 goals. B&H team will play the next match on Sunday in Lithuania.
