Biden says only “God Almighty” could convince him to end his re-election bid

US President Joe Biden said only “God Almighty” could convince him to end his re-election bid, during a prime-time interview in an attempt to calm Democrats’ concerns about his candidacy.

Speaking to ABC News, Biden also refused to take a cognitive test and release the results to convince voters he is fit to serve another term.

“I have a cognitive test every day. I have that test every day — everything I do (is a test),” Biden said.

Once again rejected the idea, suggested by some Democratic officials and donors, that he drop out in favor of a younger candidate after his disastrous debate with Donald Trump last week.

“I don’t think anyone is more qualified to be president or win this race than me,” Biden said, blaming his poor performance last week on exhaustion and a “bad cold.”

Biden answered questions more clearly than he did on the debate stage last week, but his voice again sounded weak and occasionally hoarse.
