BiH Defense Minister: President of Serbia learned that the Drina is a Border after all

The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez congratulated the special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Central Bosnian Canton who showed that institutions exist in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that no one has the right to bring in undeclared armed groups of people and try to circumvent the rules.

As Helez wrote on Facebook, after they received information from the citizens that a group of armed men was moving through the Central Bosnian Canton, which was not part of the officially registered security of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Special Unit of the MUP SBK immediately started a search. When they located them and approached them, the men ran away headfirst regardless.

“Unfortunately, such controversies are not a surprise for Aleksandar Vučić. His visits to the region are often accompanied by political tensions and moves that raise questions about respect for domestic institutions and prescribed procedures. I remind the public that a little over a year ago, Vučić tried to enter a charity dinner in the United States of America under a false name and that, after he was discovered, he was removed,” wrote Helez.

As he goes on to write, this time Vučić did not leave the impression of respect for the institutions of the host country either, but this time he received a tailored response.

“If the same rules apply to all foreign delegations, then they must also apply to the President of Serbia and his entourage. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, no one has the right to circumvent security procedures or expect special treatment,” said Helez.
