BH producers of fruit last week started with the first deliveries to Russia, after the relevant Phytosanitary Service of Russia signed the Protocol on securing Phytosanitary Requirements, which lifted the ban on imports of fruit from BiH to Russia.
Several days ago, BiH has exported more than 100 tons of pears and apples to the Russian market, as confirmed by Mirko Sarovic, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
“We finally started with export and the first shipment is going, but it is too early to talk about the planned quantities at the moment,” said Sarovic.
The signed protocol between BiH and Russia has defined that buyer can determine all the important product information during import of goods at the border crossing by a simple examination of the consignment.
Exports of fruits in Russia is now much more complex, and requires the implementation of all procedures, which guarantee the origin of the product, supplier information, inspection and transportation to the customer in Russia.
