BiH Foreign Minister: After June, nothing will be the same in this Country

After today’s session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković addressed the media and commented on the current political situation in BiH. Konaković said that after June things in this country will never be the same.

Regarding the Viaduct case, Konaković said:

“What is important to note is that the state will collect this money from the BiH entity of RS through a recourse lawsuit. It cannot be done now and it cannot be done in a month, two, three, but it will be possible in a year, a year and a half in the court process and that money will be in the account of the state of BiH, to the detriment of the RS entity,” he said and added:

“That is why we discussed a limited framework of one quarter that would allow BH ANSA to exist and operate, because the skies above BiH must not be allowed to be endangered”.

“I repeat, in every lawsuit, every brand every day will be the subject of a lawsuit against the RS. In this case, like in no other, it is clearly and precisely defined who takes responsibility, namely the RS entity,” Konaković points out.

He says that at every session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Viaduct is discussed.

“At this moment, it is a necessity, we discuss Viaduct at every session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, it is from the pockets of the people who live here. We spend money every day not solving this problem.”

When it comes to the drivers’ announcement that they will block border crossings in the country on May 1st and the problems they are facing, he said:

“This is a problem for all drivers in the Western Balkan countries. I appeal to people to understand in this situation and crisis what the EU is to us. Dodik says that we will not join the EU, what will it do for us? Here is what it will do for us. This is just a blatant example of how things look and how important they are to us,” he said and added:

“I agree that the EU is inert. We have supported initiatives several times, I have written letters to Slovenia and Hungary, the EU told us to try to resolve this bilaterally. We are waiting for answers from all colleagues.”

“HDZ is taking on the role of the villain”
When it comes to the coalition with HDZ BiH and SNSD and the cooperation and adoption of certain laws, he pointed out:

“HDZ is slowly taking on a negative role in stopping this process. I see no reason why the Minister of Security should not go into the procedure, everyone knows that making the adoption of the Emergency Law conditional is not possible. If HDZ now stops the story about the potential reconstruction of the Council of Ministers, it leaves us at the mercy of SNSD, which is blocking the European path. We will lose June as a possible option for the first intergovernmental conference, and then HDZ will bear more of the blame than SNSD.”

“After June, nothing will be the same in this country. The Troika wants to bring this country closer to the EU, and we have partially succeeded in that. If we lose June as the month in which we can open negotiations, I do not see the purpose of the existence of a coalition with SNSD and HDZ. I see no more room for any calculation,” Konaković concluded, N1 writes.
