BiH Foreign Minister spoke with the Secretary of the Conference of European Rabbis

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, spoke by phone with the Secretary of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) Gady Gronich.

In a statement to Klix.ba, Konaković said that the reason for the conversation was the cancellation of the Conference in Sarajevo.

“We discussed the cancellation of the Conference in Sarajevo, but also about the dialogue that is certainly necessary and that should take place with the options of possibly a delegation of the Conference visiting Sarajevo or a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visiting their headquarters. What I do not want to happen is for Sarajevo to be stained because of a situation we found ourselves in – a city that does not accept and does not allow dialogue,” Konaković told Klix.ba.

He added that certain politicians who do not wish us well “have risen to abuse this situation”.

“I think it can be resolved qualitatively with a good conversation, a face-to-face meeting, and I plan for that to happen in the coming period,” he stressed.

In conclusion, he stated that there were many reactions and heated debates, but that he was working to ensure that the dialogue continued as it should have – in Sarajevo.

As a reminder, the Conference of European Rabbis was supposed to be held from June 16 to 18 in Sarajevo, but was canceled after a large number of reactions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
