The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ramo Isak, during the presentation of the activities of the first 100 days of work, stated that he and his team have done more in the past 100 days than his predecessors in the past 20 years.

In the building of the Police Academy in Sarajevo, the results of the work in the first 100 days of the work of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the activities of the Federal Police Administration, were presented today at a press conference. In addition to Minister Isak, the director of the Federal Police Administration, Vahidin Munjić, attended the presentation of the results.

In his introductory presentation, Isak said that his team had done more in 100 days than its predecessors had done in 20 years.

“I only want to do one thing, and that is to thank all my colleagues, this is one of the best teams that anyone could wish for. In these 100 days, more was done than the previous ones had done in some 20 years,” said Isak.

When asked by a journalist what he considers to be the greatest success in this period, Isak replied that in the last 17 years no rank has been awarded, and it was done during his mandate.

“We visited a large number of international institutions, embassies. We secured certain funds,” said Isak.

He said that his predecessors thought in the way “Why would they go and beg someone to provide something”, which, he says, is not the case with him.

“No, we went, begged and large funds were provided. All 10 cantons respect the FUP hierarchy and we manage the coordination of any action. Before, there was a problem when two cantons worked, when they worked together, there were conflicts, we no longer have problems. We brought back that old glory,” said Isak, noting that it is very important that they restored the trust of the citizens.

In the first, out of a total of 37 items, the presented report states that in the past period the minister held meetings with representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, then ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in order to consider the situation in order to support changes in legal regulations that would contribute to the improvement security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is also stated that he established a list of priorities of what needs to be improved in FMUP, that in cooperation with EUROPOL, joint operational actions of an international character were carried out, then that a total of 79 reports on committed criminal acts were submitted, against 111 persons, of which 28 persons were deprived of their liberty. Several criminal acts of a corrupt nature have been documented, the estimated value of which is over one million convertible marks. The Federal Police Administration is involved in the work on the Sky and Anom application cases. After more than fifteen years, 32 police officers were promoted.

It was pointed out that the adoption of new legislation is in progress, i.e. amendments and additions to the regulations that will enable the work of the Ministry and the Police Directorate to be improved, and ultimately harmonize our legislation with European legislation, as well as international positive practices.

The minister particularly emphasizes the excellent cooperation with the cantonal ministries of interior affairs and strives to improve that cooperation by providing them with support in carrying out their daily activities. It was emphasized that the activities presented today are not all realized activities, nor are they less important than those presented.

Answering questions from journalists regarding the multiple murder in Gradačac, Isak said that only the FUP’s cybercrime department is involved in this case.

“FUP was asked to include the cyber crime department and for now we are only involved in that segment. Of course, when we get to that part, our forensics will also be involved,” explained Isak.

To the second question regarding the alleged omissions of Tuzla Canton police officers in the aforementioned case from Gradačac, Isak said that the prosecution is still conducting the investigation, “if during the investigation it is established that there were certain omissions, proceedings will be initiated against all those responsible”.

“The Federal Police Administration will do everything within its competence. As far as I am concerned, as a minister, I will take all measures to ensure that everyone who has made any mistake is prosecuted. We are all equal before the law, we all have an obligation to work,” said Isak.

When asked about his announcement that everyone who supported the killer Nermin Sulejmanović through social networks during the bloody campaign that he broadcast live on the networks, Isak answered:

“Whether someone has been detained or questioned, we cannot give that information because the prosecutor’s office has taken over the investigation. It is in charge and it is the only one that can give that information. What I said then is that I will do to make the competent institutions do their job.”, Federalna reports.
