BiH Presidency Members hold a Session

At the proposal of Denis Bećirović, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the 22nd extraordinary session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, conclusions were adopted in the first round regarding the escalation of attacks by the authorities of the entity Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and endangering the constitutional and legal order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to these conclusions, the BiH Presidency expresses its full commitment to preserving peace, tolerance, justice, common life, human rights, and basic freedoms of the citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Respect for the principles of constitutionality and legality, democratic authorities, and fair procedures best create peaceful relations within a pluralistic society, therefore it is necessary, with the aim of consistent implementation of the principles of legal security and the rule of law, to immediately stop ultimatums, separatist policies and attacks on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions. Policies that create an atmosphere of fear and (legal) insecurity for all citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina do not represent good foundations on which to build and strengthen Bosnia and Herzegovina’s plural society, nor do these policies enable the fulfillment of numerous obligations that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has assumed based on the signed international agreements.

Because of the evident endangerment of the Dayton Peace Agreement, strong and timely action by the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina is necessary, to protect peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Opposing illegal activities that threaten peace and security, we call on the competent judicial authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to react responsibly and promptly and to prevent and sanction any unconstitutional and illegal actions directed against Bosnia and Herzegovina and its constitutional order, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

These conclusions enter into force on the day of adoption and will be published in the “Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
