The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that it has been conducting investigative actions since December last year due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that a criminal offense has been committed – an attack on the constitutional order of BiH, Anadolu reports.
“The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is working and operating at full capacity,” it was announced today.
In connection with current events, they inform the public that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has been conducting investigative actions since December 2024, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that a criminal offense has been committed – an attack on the constitutional order under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
On Wednesday evening, the President of the BiH entity of RS, Milorad Dodik, signed decrees promulgating the law prohibiting the activities of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA, and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) in that entity.
These acts were adopted by the National Assembly of RS at a special session on February 27 and are contrary to the provisions of the Constitution of BiH, and many analysts consider them a coup d’état.
They were adopted after the Court of BiH sentenced Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from holding the office of President of the Republika Srpska. It is expected that a review of the constitutionality of these acts will be requested before the Constitutional Court of BiH.
Yesterday in Banja Luka, Dodik also signed decrees on the promulgation of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska and the Law on the Special Registry and Publicity of the Work of Non-Profit Organizations.
