Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Igor Crnadak opened BiH’s Honorary Consulate in the Italian city of Genoa on Tuesday.
Speaking at the opening of the Honorary Consulate, Crnadak stressed that in the coming period, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will predominantly work on strengthening economic ties between BiH and Italy, as the most pronounced mode of cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the relations with Italy are extremely good and this is the country which is the fourth foreign trade partner of BiH with whom it is expected to reach two billion euros in trade this year.
The first planned activity of the Honorary Consulate in Genoa is the Business Forum, which will be organized at the end of November.
“The participants of the forum will be representatives of the business community of BiH and the regions from the north of Italy, the most developed ones in that country. Since there are already over 70 Italian companies in BiH, I believe that their experience, which they will present during the Business Forum, will also help new investors to choose to do business with us,” said Crnadak.
The opening of the Honorary Consulate was also attended by BiH Honorary Consul in Genoa Rinaldo Marinoni, and BiH Ambassador to Italy Slavko Matanovic.
During his stay in Genoa, Crnadak also met with the President of the Liguria region, Giovanni Totti, as well as representatives of the chambers of commerce of Liguria and the city of Genoa.
