gispeopleIgor Stjepanović (37), born in Živinice, is one of the most successful businessmen in Australia. He is the owner of the world famous company “GIS People” from Brisbane, Queensland, and is engaged in making maps, geographic data bases and creating software for navigation.

He finished high school as a refugee in Germany. One year after graduation the high school he went to Brisbane, Queensland, where he studied Computer Science and Engineering and as the best student got a job at a local company that develops its own software GIS (Geographic Information System).

He was the only employee when he founded the company. However, the demand for GIS services in Australia began to grow, which he considered as an excellent opportunity to develop the business.  He hired former colleagues, shortly after that. “GIS People” started winning in many competitions, which opened chances for cooperation with the largest Australian companies.

They cooperated with “Santos”, the largest oil company in Australia, and then with “Brisbane City Council“. Their efforts were paid off, and the successes did not remain unnoticed. His company last year had an income of 2.4 million Australian dollars (about 3.2 million KM).
