brčkoThe coordinated helicopters of B&H Armed Forces and Civil Protection started the action to close the Sava embankment in Kopanica, near Orašje.
Helicopters will try to put steel heavy hedgehogs of 1.5 tons in the pierced spot and then to insert jumbo bags, which are suppose to prevent any further leak of the water.

“We hope that during the day we will manage to finally close the hole at the Sava embankment in Kopanica”, said the Mayor of Brčko district for Fena Anto Domić.

Sava river yesterday leaked through the embankment at Kopanica and caused floods in several villages in Municipality Orašje and Brčko district, and much larger floods in Orašje and Brčko district are expected due to the increase of water.
