British Embassy: We are grateful to BiH for supporting the EU Statement on the Case Skripal

The British Embassy in BiH is grateful to our country for “supporting” the statement of the European Union in the OSCE in the case Skripal, due to which the 14 EU member states decided to expel Russian diplomats, as well as six other world countries.

British Minister for Europe and the US, Alan Duncan, discussed this case with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic as well as with ministers of foreign affairs from the Western Balkans countries. On that occasion, Duncan thanked BiH for supporting the statement of the EU in the OSCE.

“The United Kingdom is glad that leaders of the EU agreed with the assessment of the government of the UK that the Russian Federation is most likely responsible for the attempt of assassination of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury and that there is no other alternative explanation. The Prime Minister informed the parliament on a great solidarity received from friends and partners from the EU, North America, NATO and beyond, which resulted in the expulsion of undeclared Russian intelligence officers from 22 countries. This represents the largest collective expulsion in the history,” as announced from the British Embassy in BiH.

To recall, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak stated that our country will not expel Russian diplomats for poisoning spies in the territory of the UK.
