fire2The arrival of the members of the Civilian protection in order to assist in extinguishing the fire is expected on the territory of Trebinje, where the fire line is several kilometers long.

Fire extinguishing is performed by the Fire brigade members in Trebinje and the foresters.

“The situation is under control for now,” said Saša Burani, a firefighter in the Fire brigade Trebinje, according to the Radio RS.

He stated that the fire for the most part is under the control and that there are no vulnerable residential buildings.

“One part of the fire is spreading towards the village Tuli, and Drenov dol and Uvjeća which are not near the village. The population is keeping the fire away from the electric poles, and a big part of the fire has been “sanitized,” said Burani and stated that the firefighting is still taking place, which was caused by a lightning strike in the territory of Zubci two days ago.

He confirmed that they are in contact with the firefighters from Konavle, in order to monitor the situation since the fire was spreading towards that village in Croatia.

There was also a possibility that Croatian firefighters will request the engagement of Canadair, in order to stop spreading the fire from hills of Trebinje towards Croatia.
