Campaign “No to Beggary” in Banja Luka

Prosijacenje_NjemackaThe Association “Nova generacija” from Banja Luka started a campaign entitled “No to beggary” in order to draw attention to the problem of children’s beggary.

Today and tomorrow they will be distributing informational flyers and they will also set posters in the centre of town near the children begging.

On the occasion of the 18th October of the European day against human trafficking, at the Trg Krajine in Banja Luka there was also a corner with promotion material and all of it to raise awareness about this problem as a neglected social phenomenon.

From the Nova generacija Association, they reminded that the children’s rights are guaranteed by the UN Convention on children’s rights.

The executive director of the Association NG, Maša Mirković, pointed out in her statement for the press that beggary of the Roma children is being mistreated as a problem of their culture and tradition.

Nova generacija is one of the four associations which is, in cooperation with the Ministry of security in B&H, marking the European day against human trafficking.
