The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina fined the political parties SDS and SNSD a total of 22,500 BAM at today’s session for violating the Election Law.

The SDS was fined 3,500 BAM for violating election silence, because the mayor of Šamac Đorđe Milićević published a text on election day calling for people to go to the polls and vote for one political option.

This party was also fined 3,000 BAM because the mayor of Bijeljina Ljubiša Petrović announced his support for the SDS and candidate Branko Blanuša on the official website of the City of Bijeljina.

The SNSD was fined 8,000 BAM for misuse of public resources, because the mayor of Sokolac Strahinja Bašević presented the project of the local community and local businesses as the merits of the SNSD.

The same party was fined 4,500 BAM for misuse of resources, while its candidate Siniša Karan was fined 3,500 BAM for sending certain political messages during the celebration of the Day of the Special Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.

CEC member Irena Hadžiabdić said during the session that the deadline for determining the results of the early elections expires on Saturday, December 13, but that this deadline will probably be missed because the graphologist’s findings cannot be done so quickly.

“We will work on Saturday, get a complete report and, based on all the evidence, see what the further dynamics of determining irregularities and results are,” said Hadžiabdić.

The CEC conducted an analysis that determined that 1,660 people voted in the early elections for the president of Republika Srpska without valid documents, and complete information about this will be forwarded to the competent prosecutor’s office.

Vanja Bjelica Prutina, a member of the CEC, said that it was determined that voting without documents took place in 57 constituencies, with the highest number at polling station 083 in Doboj, where there were 120 such cases, and in Zvornik, where 497 people “voted” without a valid document.

At today’s session, the CEC awarded a mandate in the House of Peoples of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Serbian people from the Assembly of the Livno Canton to Nikola Srdić.
