Petar Djokic, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska (RS), said yesterday in Beijing that the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and the China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE) have expressed willingness to cooperate and participate in projects in RS, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).

The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining said that Djokic discussed with Wang Hui, Deputy Director General of SINOSURE Corporation and Cheng Tianyu, Director for financing energy projects in the ICBC, about the possibilities of financing the project of Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) “Buk Bijela”.

“We would like to accelerate all the activities in the realization of “Buk Bijela” project, and to start construction as soon as possible,” said Minister Djokic, pointing out that it is very important that company AVIC, with which the Government of RS has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, is ready to enter in this project and make efforts to implement it as soon as possible.

He informed the representatives of Chinese financial companies on the technical characteristics of the HPP “Buk Bijela” project, for which the concession for construction was granted to the Parent Company “MH Elektroprivreda RS” and “ZP Hydroelectric Power Plants on Drina”,  as a consortium.
