Citizens spent more Money in Stores on Boycott Day

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Friday, January 31, a boycott of shops, cafes, restaurants and gas stations was carried out due to high prices, which was initiated by an informal group of citizens on social networks in order to draw attention to the increase in prices of food, but also other products and services.

According to the data that Fena news agency received from the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it can be seen that this action has not yet had a positive result. The informal group of citizens ‘Boycott in BiH’ stated that the next boycott, which is planned for this week, will last two days and will gradually increase in the coming weeks.

According to official data from the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH, on January 31, 2025, a total turnover of 251,568,163.61 BAM was recorded in the territory of the Federation of BiH. The turnover of shops in the territory of the Federation of BiH amounted to a total of 101,908,646.82 BAM. On January 30, 2025. In 2015, the total turnover in the Federation of BiH was recorded in the amount of 199,668,251.12 BAM. The turnover of shops in the Federation of BiH amounted to a total of 101,538,760.53 BAM.

On 24.01.2025. the total turnover in the Federation of BiH amounted to 175,927,100.23 BAM. The turnover of shops in the Federation of BiH amounted to a total of 92,287,812.43 BAM, Fena was told by the Tax Administration of the FBiH.

From this it can be concluded that on 31 January, the day of the boycott, compared to 30 January, the turnover of shops in the FBiH was still higher by around 370,000 BAM, and compared to 24 January it was higher by 9.6 million BAM.
