ispracaj-tabutaCoffins with the remains of 127 victims killed during the Srebrenica genocide in July 1995, which will be buried on the 11th of July in the Memorial Center in Potocari, were prepared for the funeral.

Yesterday, the employees of the Public Utility Company Gradska groblja Visoko (City cemetery Visoko) placed them in a truck that will transport them today to Potocari.

Organizer of works in PUC City cemetery Visoko Kenan Karavdic said that, as in previous years, this company will participate together with public utilities Commemorative Center from Tuzla in organization of equipment, transportation and burial of victims of Srebrenica genocide from 1995.

Karavdic said that they ended with digging of the graves at the Potocari Memorial Centre.

Today at 10.00 am is planned farewell of the column from the PUC City cemetery Visoko in which, in a truck covered with the flag of BiH, will be transported coffins with the remains of victims.

Karavdic stated that this year there was a change of route from Visoko to Potocari.

“This year, at the request of the Mayor, the column will pass through Ilijas since there is a lot of people from Srebrenica living in this municipality,” said Karavdic.

Than they will go to Vogosca, where they will make a short stop, as in previous years. It is also foreseen for this sad column to stop in front of the building of the Presidency in Sarajevo on its way to Potocari where a large number of citizens, as well as representatives of government and the international community, will pay the tribute to the murdered victims.

The column with the coffins should arrive in Potocari in the late afternoon, where 127 victims will find their peace after a collective funeral and burial on the 11th of July.

A spokeswoman for the Missing Persons Institute of BiH Lejla Cengic earlier said that the victims were from different municipalities, and most of them were from the area of Srebrenica, Bratunac, Vlasenica, Zvornik and Milici.

She emphasized that among the 127 victims that will be buried at a joint funeral, 12 were minors.

According to her, the youngest victim that will be buried on the 11th of July in Potocari was 14 years old Avdija (Emin) Memic, while the oldest victim was Mustafa (Hajro) Hadzovic, born in 1918.
