Coffins with the Remains of 136 Victims to be transported on July 9th

19. godišnjica genocida u Srebrenici: Sarajevo se u nezapamćenThe coffins with 136 newly identified remains of the victims of genocide, that are to be buried on July 11th at the Memorial Center in Potočari, will be transported from Visoko to Potočari on July 9th.

A column with the coffins should start from Visoko on July 9th at 9 a.m. With a stop in Vogošća, in front of the building of the Presidency of B&H, the Memorial to the killed children of Sarajevo and next to the Markale market in Sarajevo to pay tribute to the fallen victims of Srebrenica, the arrival in Potočari is scheduled at 3 p.m.

The funeral for 136 victims of genocide is to begin at 1 p.m. in July 11th, first by praying the Zuhr and Asr prayer, and then the Funeral prayer as well.

Among 136 Srebrenica victims that will find their eternal resting place in the Memorial Center in Potočari on July 11th are also 18 minors.

The youngest victims that are to be buried are 16-yar-olds, eight of them.

After this year’s funeral in Potočari, a total of 440 minors will be buried, and every fourteenth victim buried in Potočari is a child.

Until now, 6.241 victims have been buried at the Memorial Center in Potočari, and 230 of them have been individually buried out of the Memorial Center, in accordance with the wishes of the families.

All those who plan to be present this year at the funeral in Potočari are kindly asked by the Organizational Committee for marking the July 11th 1995 to plan their arrival at the Memorial Center on July 11th in early morning hours, and to comply fully with the protocol established by the members of the Organizational Committee, the police, and the security guards.
