The director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in B&H David Barth today in Sarajevo, at the elementary school “Kovačići” handed the awards to winners of USAID competition for primary schools in the category of the best children story.
USAID organized the competition for the best children story in June of this year, for children up to 15 years old, on the topic ”Why every child regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender and degree of mobility or mental development deserves the same rights and opportunities”.
Barth said that this is the beginning of USAID campaign for children’s rights and that the children in the best way can show what is the most needed for them and what they deserve.
He distributed to the winners from Sarajevo Indira Rudić and Haruna Bandić tickets for the European Basketball Championship that will start on Saturday.
To the primary school “Kovačići” he handed five computers, and said that they will always find time and ways to help schools, especially when students show remarkable results.
“Our mission is to give you the tools, and you to use it”, said Barth, addressing the students.
