The regional conference “Positive Practices in Protection of Human Rights to Members of Armed Forces”, with the organization of the Office of the Parliamentary Military Commissioner BiH and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in BiH (UNDP BiH) begins today in Sarajevo.

The main goal of this two-day conference is the exchange of positive experiences and good practices in the protection of human rights and freedoms of members of the Armed Forces in BiH, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark.

Since the status and functioning of the institutions that deal with the protection of human rights in Armed Forces is different in each country, then strengthening the current cooperation between the representatives of participating countries is one of the goals of this conference.

In addition to the Parliamentary Military Commissioner BiH Boško Šiljegović, other people who will speak at the conference are: Chairman of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security of BIH Dušanka Majkić, Minister of Defense Zekerijah Osmić, Deputy Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Germany Fritz Günther, the Resident Representative of the UNDP in BiH Yuri Afanasiev, and representatives of international and nonprofit organizations in BiH.
