Confession of a young Man who was beaten by Nationalists in Bratunac: I live in fear

Osman Mehanovic is an exemplary 19-year-old who lives with his mother and father in Bratunac. Although almost all his friends have left, he saw his future in this small municipality to some extent. However, the case in which he was beaten by juvenile nationalists changed his outlook on life.

A turning point in his life

He changed his outlook on life precisely because of the event that happened to him on Friday evening, which represented a turning point in his life. Namely, that night this young man was brutally beaten by three minors.

On that occasion, Osman suffered injuries to his head and hand, and one of his teeth was knocked out. Fortunately, a greater tragedy did not occur because a woman appeared at the scene of the incident, and the attackers fled.

Support from all sides

Since two nights ago, Osman has been constantly receiving great support from the public, and he points out that it is very important to him, because a person who has experienced the same thing as him cannot come out of this trauma on his own.

“Nationalism is mainly spread by the older generations, in this case, the parents of these children. I think the younger generations should not pay attention to it. Everything that happened was before us, but in every nation, there are certain people who are not really for this society and community. In general, in smaller communities in Republika Srpska (RS), nationalism prevails and cannot be eradicated,” Osman believes.

Osman will certainly realize his message in another environment because he no longer sees a place for himself in Bratunac. It is sad that people like him leave, and those who are chained to nationalism stay, denying any opportunity for further development of this municipality, which has great potential, Klix.ba reports.
