The Council of Ministers of B&H determined the Draft Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation between B&H and the European Police Office (EUROPOL).
The purpose of this agreement is the establishment of cooperation between EUROPOL and B&H in order to support the EU member states and B&H in prevention and fight against organized crime, terrorism, and other kinds of international crime, especially through exchange of information between EUROPOL and B&H.
Moreover, B&H and EUROPOL will offer support to each other in order to facilitate the establishment and action of joint investigation teams. The joint contact point of B&H for cooperation with EUROPOL will be the Ministry of Security of B&H. The contact point will be determined in accordance with the temporal Decision of the Council of Ministers of B&H on the establishment of cooperation and information exchange between the relevant bodies for law enforcement in B&H and EUROPOL, which was published in the Official Gazette 7/14.
According to the Decision, the joint contact point in B&H is consisted of the following: the Directorate for coordination of police bodies of B&H, the State Investigation and Protection Agency of B&H, Border Police of B&H, Office for Foreigners’ Issues, Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, cantonal ministries of internal affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, and the Police of the District Brcko, B&H.
The Ministry of Security of B&H will deliver the Draft agreement to the Presidency of B&H for further procedure, with a suggestion to determine the Minister of security of B&H as the signatory of the Agreement.
